Lent and Children's Worship

Check out the following Lenten Devotional Blog:  http://lentreading.wordpress.com/.  You can register to receive daily emails providing brief scripture passages during Lent.  This blog provides an explanation to the meaning of Lent.  The Lenten Season begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22nd) and lasts until Saturday, April 7th.  There is a section on this blog that asks "How can I keep lent?"  Four basic ways are outlined if you are interested.

We will be discussing Lent during Children's Worship beginning on February 26th. We will cover 5 lessons as we prepare to remember and celebrate Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the grave to save us. Our focus on the Lent lessons will not be on teaching the children to give up things during lent but rather to take on doing good things, like Jesus did.  We will use parable Bible stories for each lesson as we explore "Walk His Ways" Lent lessons.  Check out the blog each Sunday evening beginning February 26th for the activities suggested to children during the lesson as they take on doing good things. For more information about the "Walk His Ways" lessons check out the following link:  Walk His Ways

Children's Worship - This coming Sunday we will begin with the Preschool class asking catechism questions, but hope to also have an opportunity to ask the Elementary children.  They are all doing great job learning the catechism questions.
Keep up the good work kids!!!
