Kids Give Back - TREASURE

Kids Give Back Summer Camp 2012: TREASURE
Come join us as we have fun learning about things we treasure:  water, food, clothes, and new school supplies.  During our time together, children will be encouraged to give some of their treasures to The Link Niger: Wells & Water Program, Mechanicsville Christian Emergency Functions - Food Pantry, Boaz & Ruth's Sunny Days Thrift Store, and Northside Outreach Center.   Children will be hearing Bible stories throughout the week which will teach them that God is our greatest treasure .
Kids Give Back will be from July 9th - July 12th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at New Hanover Presbyterian Church.  On Friday July 13th from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, we invite families to attend a special “Family Fun Friday” program where the children will show their families what they have learned all week.  Afterwards, we will enjoy a dessert social together!! Registration for Kids Give Back is greatly appreciated by June 30th in order to plan appropriately. There is no cost for the camp.  During the week of Kids Give Back we will ask for donations for The Link Niger, canned goods for the Food Pantry, gently used clothes for Sunny Days Thrift Store, and school supplies for Northside Outreach Center.

We will have two Kids Give Back Clubs: One for Ages 3 – Rising Kindergarteners and one for Rising 1st graders – Rising 5th graders. We look forward to a fun week filled with music, games, skits, and stories from the Bible as children participate in exploring their treasures and how they can share them with others. Check out the following links to learn more about The Link Niger  , Food PantrySunny Days, and Northside Outreach Center. Please contact Julie Best at 389-1979 or julie@gcpres.org if you have any questions.

There will be a preregistration table set up next Sunday, May 6th at church before the service and during fellowship time.

Grace Kids Update

We are back in business with the children's worship curriculum and the catechism booklet:  First Catechism: Teaching Children Bible Truths. Tomorrow the elementary class will have an opportunity to answer their catechism questions.  If we have time then we will also begin asking the preschool class.  Please ask your child to share with you their catechism slips in order to help keep track at home with the questions they have answered during class.

Don't forget to check out the resource table as you enter church.  There are a handful of cds and books for children available.  The ask me Whooo cds are an excellent resource for you to have as they put the catechism questions to music.  My children love listening to them.  Both volume 1 and volume 2 are available at the resource table.

Join us tomorrow in Section 212 at the Diamond to cheer on The Flying Squirrels!!!  The game is at 2:00.  The giveaway will be batting gloves for the first 2,000 children 14 and under.

Monday, April 16th at 10:00: Story time at Sleepy Bear Coffee House.  The children can enjoy a story and play, while the moms can try one of Sleepy Bear's tasty drinks!!
Check them out at:  Sleepy Bear Coffee

Palm Sunday

Some of our youngest kiddos celebrating Palm Sunday during their Sunday Community Class.

No Sunday Community Classes on Easter

Children's Worship will be offered for children 3 years old - 2nd grade. They will not say their catechism questions this week.  The teachers will use resurrection eggs to share the Easter story.

All children will be invited up front during the beginning of the corporate worship service to listen to a story being read from The Jesus Storybook Bible.  They will hear the story, God's wonderful surprise (The Resurrection, from Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20).
