Grace Kids Update

June 9th will be our final Sunday Community Class and Grace Kids Worship until the fall.  We will start again in September but take  break over the summer months.

A couple ways children will be involved in the service on June 9th:

• One of our youngest classes (Critters - preschoolers) will recite Psalm 23 (King James Version)
• Grace Kids Worship will help with leading the congregation in 2 songs:  King Jesus is All and Rock Eternal (Seeds CD:  Praise Album)

Children's worship Update

Both the Preschool and Elementary classes are doing a great job.  

Preschool - They are currently working on Catechism questions 38 & 39

• Question 38:  How sinful are you by nature? I am corrupt in every part of my being.
• Question 39:  What is the sinful nature that we inherit from Adam called? Original sin.

The preschool class will be bringing home a chart this week titled:  Wants to obey.  We will discuss a special place to hang up their chart so they can be reminded throughout the week.  This is a picture chart focusing on areas our young children may need help with obeying. They get to color in the chart with the pictures if they are obeying.  Hopefully this will be a helpful resource as an extension of our lesson this coming Sunday.  The areas that the chart highlights are:  putting away toys, meal time, brushing teeth, and bedtime.  

Elementary - They are currently working on Catechism questions 109 & 110

• Question 109: What is prayer? Prayer is praising God, giving thanks for all his blessings, and asking him for the things he has promised in the Bible. 
• Question 110: In whose name should we pray?  Only in the name of Christ.

The Elementary class spent the last couple of months working on the Ten Commandments.  

***Please note - All children are learning the catechisms at their own rate. They have an opportunity every other week to recite them to a teacher.  We do move along with the curriculum to expose them to the questions with Bible stories to help with better understanding the catechism questions and answers. This week the Preschool class will have an opportunity to say the answers. ***

Sunday School Teachers Needed:  I am currently filling positions for the 2013 - 2014 school year.  We are in need of teachers for the Preschool and Kindergarten Classrooms.
