Memory Verses: Unit 1 Dwell Curriculum

MEMORY VERSES:  During 9/14 – 10/26 each class will be working on memorizing the following verses.  You may want to use this as an opportunity to memorize the verse with them.  J Memory Verse cards were handed out last Sunday.  Please place in a special spot as a reminder for your child to review daily.  Children will be learning the same verse in Children’s Worship and Sunday Communities.

Memory Verse CELEBRATION:  Classes will be given a ballot on 10/19 and select from 3 choices.  Majority vote wins and will be announced for children to claim the reward on 10/26.

Preschool Psalm 100: 1-2 “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”

Kindergarten & 1st Grade   Psalm 100: 1-3 “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the Lord is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”

2nd & 3rd Grade  Luke 2: 8-14  A Royal Announcement…
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
    and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
4th & 5th Grade   Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
 they comfort me. You prepare a table before me
 in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
