Lenten Journey Kits
This past Sunday I began handing out the Lenten Journey Kits for  families as prepare to celebrate Easter.  The journey begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5th.  Bingo chips have been used with sticker labels and magnets to create the symbols you will use daily throughout Lent. Don't get discouraged with the number of symbols.  Trust me - I know as a family we will get behind.  When we do I will just have the kids add the symbols to the path and move on to the next one. The intention of this gift is NOT to add any stress but to be an encouragement for families as they read through scripture together and plan for Easter.

*** If you did not receive your kit this week I will also have them on Feb23rd. ***

Lent is the forty days before Easter (not counting Sundays), beginning with Ash Wednesday  and ending the night before Easter.  It is a time of silence and waiting – a time of revelation, conversion, and transformation.  Lent is a time of remembering.  It is a time to pause, retreat from our busy life, and to reflect on what Christ has done and wants to do in our lives.   It is a time Christ revealed to us through the symbols and stories in God’s Word.  It is a time to encounter Christ and His journey through life.  We hear His teachings, see  His example, and follow Him to the cross.  We remember the Passion of our Lord and how He gave His life so that we may live. “ The Lenten Tree by Dean Meador Smith (pp. 7-8)

“Lent is a time that children can learn how much Jesus loves them and the great sacrifice He made for their eternal life. “ The Lenten Tree by Dean Meador Smith (pg. 11)Evite Sign Up
